Unlock your potential with the art of Improv!

We are excited to be able to offer our Improv classes again. We are back with our adult fundamentals and intermediate classes with our brand new instructor Ally! A a graduate from the Capilano theatre program and cast member of the Unnamed Sketch Show, Ally is excited to be back in her home town teaching such wonderful students. The Fundamentals and intermediate classes run every Thursday and Friday evening at the Richmond Arts Centre.

We are super happy to have Kelli back teaching her always popular, and forever fun Seniors improv class. Join her every Monday at the Minoru Centre for Active Living for a low stakes, fun class that’s definitely going to leave you laughing.

We have our Youth classes running again with our new instructor Noah. This classes are specifically catered to new performers who are looking to get their first introduction to improv comedy and theatre. Join Noah every Thursday from 5:15-6:45pm at the Richmond Arts centre

Our Story

Richmond Improv Theatre Society (RITS) started as just a couple of friends who just wanted to connect and make comedy around Richmond. But since its humble beginnings it has become a name stay in the community. From doing fundraisers like Laughter is the Best Medicine, to starting performance groups like TMPImprov, Extra Relish, and Bored of Directors. RITS aims to be the community hub for improv comedy in Richmond by providing equitable access to performances and classes so everyone in the Richmond community can participate. Richmond Improv Theatre Society is proudly supported by the City of Richmond Arts & Culture Project Assistance Grant.
